Excellent 3 points earned against a very strong Nailsea outfit who will certainly win more games than they will lose .

Nailsea certainly started the better and were awarded a penalty on 3 minutes but the outstanding Lewis Clark made an excellent save down to his left to thwart Joe Berry’s effort but undeterred Nailsea continued to make life difficult and on 11 minutes a rather controversial free kick awarded against Calne’s debutant centre back James Dorsett was headed home by Dylan Williams tho the lead was short lived as 4 minutes later an excellent Kyle Bird cross was headed home by Francis Abijo to level things up .

Chances came and went at both ends until on 41 minutes Nailsea’s Jack Harper made up for an earlier missed opportunity by finishing comfortably to see the visitors back in front but within 2 minutes we were awarded a penalty after a foul on Abijo and Nick Taylor made no mistake from 12 yards to send us in all square at halftime.

Started the second half very well tho a good and well organised visitors defence held firm until on 56 minutes Ed Oatley’s superb free kick was headed home by Taylor to give us a 3-2 lead which we may and probably should have added to with opportunities coming and going tho Kegan Smart was unlucky to see his header cleared from under the crossbar on 78 minutes.

Certainly not all one way mind and Lillywhites keeper Lewis Clark had to be at his very best on more than a few occasions to keep the lead intact but see it out we did and it must be said we were more than a little grateful to hear the final whistle.
