Following the outstanding success of 2025—when the Nowhere Fundraisers for Cancer Research UK raised an incredible £12,089—Turning Nailsea Pink returns for 2026, promising to be bigger, brighter, and even more impactful.
From Saturday to Saturday, April 18 to May 2, Nailsea will once again transform into a vibrant Sea of Pink, as the community comes together to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
The event officially launches at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday, April 18l.
Across the town, preparations are already underway. Knitters are hard at work creating pink covers for street bollards, while sewing machines hum as volunteers produce metres of pink bunting to decorate the High Street and Crown Glass Shopping Centre.
Shops and businesses—both in the town centre and beyond—are embracing the spirit by dressing their windows with a bold pop of pink.
Local schools, clubs, pubs, churches, and organisations are all invited to take part. Highlights include:
-
Best Pink Window Award (for shops and businesses)
-
Best Pink Interior Award (for pubs and clubs)
While the event is filled with fun and creativity, it also carries an important message. Cancer touches all of us - through family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours.
The Nowhere Fundraisers, a dedicated local group supporting Cancer Research UK, aim to raise awareness of the progress being made, while recognising that there is still much work to be done.
Cancer Research UK continues to focus on three key areas:
-
Early Diagnosis – helping people recognise symptoms and detect cancer sooner
-
Treatment & Therapies – developing more effective and less aggressive treatments
-
Prevention – reducing risk through lifestyle awareness and safer environments
Information leaflets will be available at the Turning Nailsea Pink stall at the Farmers’ Market and at No. 65 High Street.
To get involved and help raise money for this amazing event the Nowhere Fundraisers for Cancer Research UK set up a donation page https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/team/turn-nailsea-pink-2026 and have QR code on their posters where people may like to donate.
Alternatively, most shops and cafes have a 'pink' collection box.

"Whether it’s decorating your home with bunting or a pink window display, supporting local shops and businesses taking part, or simply donating some spare change, every contribution makes a difference.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, have fun, and raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK—support that helps save lives.”

BOYS WILL BE BOYS: Cocktail hour at Downing's Bar looks like fun on Saturday from 5-6pm. The High Street bar won a 'special' category for going all 'out' during Turn Nailsea Pink Cancer Research UK fortnight of fundraising. Squarebird and Replenish were among the winners too. This was organised by NowFUNraisers now in its fourth year of its raising awareness and adding vital money with a super duper calendar of fun events. Formed in 2022 the group has raised more than £30,000 in its first three years. Below is a slideshow of the days events in Somerset Square...more photos to come...

PINK HEARTS: 5th Nailsea Brownies have joined in Turn Nailsea Pink, they had a pink evening at Holy Trinity church hall and raised more than £70 with more money still coming in online. A spokesperson said: "We all know someone affected by cancer, one of our own leaders Little Owl Debbie we sadly lost in 2022, so this cause is close to our hearts."

FLOWER POWER: Patricia Adams said: "The effort that went into that beautiful blossom tree is amazing, I think Coffee Corner deserved a shout out - their window was excellent." Helena and her Coffee Corner team are offering her window decorations to be auctioned off and all proceeds go to cancer research. Karen Leighton has asked us to publicise as she is sure they would be suitable for many occasions/events. Can't quite read the certificate but they definately won something!
